• Feb 25, 2026 This is a wonderful property with a great Hawaii vibe! It’s close to downtown with beautiful ocean views and the sound of crashing wave always present. Mermaid cove provides excellent snorkeling/ swimming especially for the kids in our group. The house was fully equipped. The kitchen was especially well stocked. • Dec 20, 2025 Highly recommend! My family of 7 loved staying here! The house was a fantastic combination of amenities and location. The pool was amazing and my kids spent a lot of time there, and the beach was just steps away. We loved waking up to the ocean views (although the cruise ships showed up for 2 days and somewhat blocked our view). The house was spacious and clean and included everything we needed. It was incredibly clean and well-maintained, with a fully stocked kitchen—even including a few emergency spices, which was a thoughtful touch. The hot tub heated up quickly and was perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring.The location is unbeatable, with a stunning private cove just steps from the back door—ideal for swimming or snorkeling. Plus, it’s conveniently close to local shops and stores, which made everything easy and stress-free.One thing to note: the neighbor to the left (when facing the ocean) is sensitive to noise. If you're traveling with a larger group, be mindful of volume after 8 p.m., as she may call security. Security was polite but firm when they came by.Despite that, I would absolutely stay here again. • Mar 04, 2025 I will return to this beautiful home. Fully stocked kitchen with everything needed to bake, cook, grill, or anything you can think of. Incredible views of the ocean. Family friendly beach/wading pools right in the back yard. Or just swim and sit in the hot tub, it's all right there and perfect. Terrific place. You won't be disappointed. • Jan 15, 2025 January 2025 We had the best time over the past few days at Mermaid Cove. This home is so thoughtfully thought out. They had everything you could think of on top of being an amazing house in an amazing location. Every time we thought we might need to run to the store for something, we would end up finding it in the house. We forgot our snorkel gear…no problem, that was in the house. We really wanted a rice cooker…no problem, that was in the house. The amenities were great and the communication with the rental team was amazing. We will definitely be back! • Dec 19, 2024 What an ideal beach setting in a private and quiet upscale neighborhood, very close to Kona. Great central location on the west coast of Hawaii. We’ve been to The Big Island a dozen times and wish we’d found this place sooner! The bay is absolutely perfect for families with young kids! I found myself wanting to wake up an hour before sunrise every morning just to experience the morning glow while swimming in the ocean. Even though there’s an amazing pool on the property we found ourselves in the ocean much more because it was just a few steps further. The home had everything with the right amount of eclectic decor, like a hanging wooden shark, stained glass windows and of course all the mermaid elements 🧜‍♀️ It was very open and spacious for our family of 7 and it was awesome to be able to open up the walls of glass sliders all the way to really take in the breathtaking views. • Oct 11, 2024 This house was absolutely perfect. We had the best time with our family and friends. I was looking for a house on the beach where we could feel the breeze and listen to the waves crashing on the shore and it didn't disappoint. The beautiful house is situated on the best part of Keiki Beach with nothing short of a phenomenal view. It was very comfortable, clean and tidy. Everything was meticulously labelled and easily to use. The downstairs lanai with pool and hot tub was a favorite hangout for the kids and adults alike although the upstairs lanai was also very lovely. There were tons of pool and beach toys available to use as well as plenty of games and fun dress up outfits the kids loved. You can tell the owners put a lot of effort into making it family friendly. • Jun 22, 2024 This home did not disappoint. We are a family of 5 and my mother came with. We were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary, high school graduation, 8th grade graduation and celebrating health. Our 3 children joined us, 18,16, and 14. My mother joined us too.The location was wonderful. Snorkeling right out front. A short drive to Kona for shopping and food. 20 minutes to the airport. Costco, Walmart and a new Safeway very close to the house. A few restaurants within walking distance, maybe 10-15 minutes. Plenty of space to stretch out. We spent most nights on the lanai talking. Meals at the big dining table. The pool area was nice, there is a public walkway right next to the house, which I was not aware of. It was fine, just more traffic than expected. There is a wall that helps with privacy. Maybe a little more greenery on that wall would need nice. Plenty of pool toys, especially for small children. The kitchen was stocked! There were starter supplies-water, dish detergent and clothing detergent. Small shampoo and conditioners, but I would bring shampoo/conditioner, and body soap. Small beach out front, usually filled up with other beachgoers. Woke up one morning to a large cruise ship, was there for only about 12 hours, can hear the engine, but we just played music in background. The sound system did not work, which was disappointing. The hammock was broke upon our arrival, but was replaced within a day. Not sure if the pool was cleaned. Amazing house, highly recommend. Show more Show less Christine L

• Jun 23, 2023 The house sits on an amazing small private beach that has a protected reef. The kids enjoyed snorkeling all day and as parents we really didn’t have to worry about waves, etc. The house has plenty of rooms and space for a large family. Also, the house has more the of small niceties such as utensils, spices, plates, etc… than numerous other vacation rentals we have stayed at. Show more Show less Scott K

• Mar 24, 2023 Our stay was amazing! The house lives up to the photos. Our younger children loved in the pool, while the teenagers enjoyed the beach right out front. We enjoyed coffee on the balcony watching the waves crash, fish as well as a sea turtle in the tide pool, humpback wales breaching and cocktails with the sunset at night.
