Dec 08, 2022 Beautiful Family Vacation Location! 100% Recommend!! This property is beautiful! From local art to a basket of hats - there are so many thoughtful touches to appreciate throughout the house. I would recommend this property to any family traveling to Kona. The fully opening back door created an indoor/outdoor space was unreal - we spent so much time eating, drinking, laughing, and swimming with our family. It allowed us to continue relaxing and vacationing while our son napped mid-day without feeling "trapped". The beds were clean and comfy. The kitchen amenities provided saved time/money and made our stay more enjoyable (we especially loved the blender for our fruity drinks!). We were presently surprised by the amount of pool and beach equipment available, it is definitely undersold online! We enjoyed the high-quality paddle boards, snorkel gear, chairs, sand toys etc. that were provided. Our son was obsessed with playing wiffle ball! There is room for two full sized vehicles in the garage which was great for our larger group. The gated community in which this property is located is clean and friendly! This property is ~10 min drive to Kona city/shopping and only 10 min walk to the tour guide dock, so we enjoyed many trips/experiences together. The limited light pollution in the complex allowed some of the best stargazing from the patio/pool!! So much wildlife to see: the golf course goats, geckos, and birds provided endless entertainment! A couple very minor, constructive notes to mention. The limited towel hooks in the bathrooms and by the pool was a bit frustrating and led to more loads of laundry. The one bedroom/bathroom is disproportionally smaller than the other two. Not really an issue, it still has a king-sized bed and private bathroom but if you are travelling with 3 couples make sure one couple is prepared/paying less. There were also no clear instructions for recycling & no recycling bin which was disappointing. Coming from Coastal BC, we were surprised this was not also a priority in another coastal region. We had an issue on the last day, however, Elite Pacific was quick to respond and deal with the issue appropriately and professionally. It doesn’t matter where you stay or how much you pay, things happen! It's how you deal with them that counts and the person I worked with was kind, genuinely apologetic, and quick to rectify the issue. These minor issues did not affect our experience at all and I would definitely stay again! Book this property now because you wont regret it! 🙂 Tyler O

Welcome to Island Time by Gather! Complete with a private pool and spa, this new, single-level Kailua-Kona vacation home offers total luxury with a contemporary beach house feel. No expense was spared in creating a gorgeous vacation escape. At the center of the home is the custom live-edge dining table that seats eight adults. Each of its three spacious bedrooms features a king-sized bed, a 50" Smart TV w/cable, and its own elegant full bath, creating three separate guest retreats. Situated on the Kona Country Club golf course in the private gated community of Holua Kai, Island Time provides peekaboo ocean views from the primary bedroom and backyard.
The home's open-concept great room boasts vaulted ceilings and clean lines, thoughtfully appointed with ample seating, a 65" Smart TV, Cable, a DVD player with a full library of DVDs, and a Sonos surround sound system. Its well-equipped "Chefs" kitchen includes an expansive island, top-of-the-line amenities, Cutco cooking utensils, and GE Stainless Steel Monogram appliances. Central air conditioning, spacious rooms, stylish finishes, a half-bath convenient to the living space, wireless internet, and a washer/dryer to ensure total comfort.
With floor-to-ceiling glass pocket doors across the back of the house, the living quarters at Island Time flow out to a large covered lanai, with areas for lounging and open-air dining for a true Hawaiian indoor-to-outdoor experience. Just beyond, the pool and spa have been fenced in for privacy, and a built-in gas barbecue grill offers an additional option for meals at home. Guests are welcome to park in the private 2-car garage. When it's time for a trip to the beach, guests will appreciate the availability of towels, chairs, an umbrella, a cooler, boogie boards, sand toys, and games.
A 10-minute walk from this luxury Kona vacation rental on the Big Island leads to Keauhou Bay, which provides a unique opportunity to swim with manta rays. A short drive leads to other stunning beaches, such as White Sands, Kua Bay, and Makalawena. Guests will find shops, restaurants, and a movie theater less than two miles away at Keauhou Shopping Center, as well as additional shopping and dining in nearby Kona Town. Island Time also allows easy access to attractions such as the Kealakekua Bay marine sanctuary, championship golf courses, and opportunities for hiking, snorkeling, diving, and deep-sea fishing.
Please note: each reservation (14 days or longer) will include a mandatory mid-stay cleaning cost of $200.
Please note that 7 private tennis and 20 pickleball courts are available for guest use for an additional fee. Of those facilities, 5 tennis courts and 8 pickleball courts have lights. Court Rentals are $25/hour per court for non-members. If you'd like to become a member of the Holua Kai community, the court rental fee will be waived. To book a private tennis or pickleball court, guests may call or text Holua Kai's shop phone, and let them know of the day and time you are planning to play. A member of Holua Kai's community team will let you know which court(s) are available.
Drop-in, Open Pickleball Play Schedule @ Holua Racquet and Paddle: Every drop-in play is open to members and non-members alike. Non-members pay $10/person for each open play they join. For example, if you play in the 8 AM open play and pay $10/person, an additional $10/person for the afternoon play will apply. However, the Holua Kai community offers weekly, monthly, and more membership rates. If interested, please contact Holua Kai's shop for applicable rates.
