Jan 21, 2026 Absolutely wonderful stay at Papala Place! Beautiful location in a private neighborhood with a view to the ocean. The hosts were very responsive to our needs. Our group of 6 was very comfortable - we only wish we had longer to stay to enjoy the property longer! The heated hot tub was very nice for our January stay. There are 2 living rooms on the main floor as well as a patio on the 2nd floor - so many options to spend time together! Also enjoyed playing volleyball in the lawn. There are several places nearby to get acai bowls, coffee, malasadas, poke, and more. Will definitely stay here again! Adam C

The bedrooms are spacious and the public spaces (living room, family room, eating area kitchen) are as well. In general a full luxury experience!There were a few minor problems with the toilet, range hood, and could use a little more silverware. but nits generally. Andrew A

Mar 08, 2025 excellent stay Our family group had an excellent stay at this fabulous property. The house is located in a lovely neighborhood that is extremely peaceful. The house is beautifully decorated and in excellent condition and the garden, pool and hot tub complement the many facilities in the home itself. The spacious interior offers so many areas in which to hang out and relax, taking in the lovely views of the sunset and the Pacific Ocean. The house is well-equipped and everything is extremely well-maintained. The home is also well within walking distance of Kailua-Kona, being approx. 2 miles up the road. Access to Ali'i Drive is via a pedestrian gate (with keycode) and, once on that road, the walk into Kona is scenic and enjoyable, passing the many waterfront properties and beaches along the way. In all, we were super impressed by both the property and the host. I highly recommend booking this property for your stay on Big Island. Peter R

Feb 08, 2025 superb property This is a truly superb property and although it was just me and my partner, this house is large enough to accommodate a family of 8-10.The house was immaculate, the grounds were lush and beautiful, the patio and pool were perfect with plenty of lounge chairs, tables, and couches for all the comfort you could desire. The house is a tue stunner with lots of rooms, hallways and common areas to make it feel spacious and private. The location from Kona is only a 5 minute drive but the house is tucked away in a gated oasis that makes it feel private and secure. One of the finest luxury rentals we have stayed in! Shawn D
