  • Jan 21, 2026 Absolutely wonderful stay at Papala Place! Beautiful location in a private neighborhood with a view to the ocean. The hosts were very responsive to our needs. Our group of 6 was very comfortable - we only wish we had longer to stay to enjoy the property longer! The heated hot tub was very nice for our January stay. There are 2 living rooms on the main floor as well as a patio on the 2nd floor - so many options to spend time together! Also enjoyed playing volleyball in the lawn. There are several places nearby to get acai bowls, coffee, malasadas, poke, and more. Will definitely stay here again! Adam C

The house is beautifully decorated and in excellent condition and the garden, pool and hot tub complement the many facilities in the home itself. The spacious interior offers so many areas in which to hang out and relax, taking in the lovely views of the sunset and the Pacific Ocean. The house is well-equipped and everything is extremely well-maintained. The home is also well within walking distance of Kailua-Kona, being approx. 2 miles up the road. Access to Ali'i Drive is via a pedestrian gate (with keycode) and, once on that road, the walk into Kona is scenic and enjoyable, passing the many waterfront properties and beaches along the way. In all, we were super impressed by both the property and the host. I highly recommend booking this property for your stay on Big Island. Peter R
