I didn’t fully understand that 2 of the bedroom/suites were “separate” from the main house, for multiple couples/families that’s a definite plus, for one family with kids it’s a little less desirable. A bit of traffic noise in those 2 suites. Just good to know going in. House was immaculately clean, stocked with everything you could possibly want! Loved the beach towels, beach chairs, etc… The location was perfect for us, away from the mainstream, but close enough to drive, lush surroundings, perfectly secluded. Fans were a definite plus since the ocean front rooms don’t have a cross breeze. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Jill E

  • Dec 31, 2024 Amazing location sandy beach, blue water and Mountain View’s. Beach is somewhat private in that very few people came. The waves are big but we did get in the water just didn’t go far from shore. House is clean and organized. Two of the bed rooms are connected to the main house by an open air covered porch. There is an empty lot next door where a man seemed to be camping. Walking distance to ocean front restaurant and a coffee shop. Ten minute walk along the beach is another beautiful spot with calm water and beautiful fish. Safe for kids. Andrew B

It is late in the season and the water was too rough for the kids to safely swim in there, but they loved playing in the sand and running from the waves. Short drive to hanalei town area, multiple beaches within short walking or driving distance. The house had all amenities you need for a beach house vacation, including beach chairs/umbrellas, boogie boards, and sand toys. Thank you Casey P

The beach was gorgeous, there was a monk seal hanging out every day that we loved walking to see. The water and current were too rough to swim in, but right down the road was Hanalei Beach and that was a dream! Would absolutely recommend staying here! Mandi G

We plan to stay here again. Being right on the ocean and listening to the waves every night was incredible. The location is conveniently close to Hanalei, but far enough away that you feel secluded. You really feel like you are in Paradise while staying here . Would have been really nice to have more chairs on the porch facing ocean, so you could have morning coffee or evening cocktails. The porch off the kitchen only had a bench.   • Jul 01, 2024 4 couples including parents with 3 adult children. - Each couple had their own bathroom and bedroom. Great privacy. - At the same time, the living room, dining room, and outdoor areas are spacious and excellent for congregations. - Well-appointed kitchen for grand meals. Grill is good but we ran out of propane which was a miss by the people who maintain it since there was no backup tank. ~ Surf at this house is strong and exciting. Further down the beach it’s less energetic and that’s where we did snorkeling - my son saw two Manta Rays right off the beach here. - The nearby Tunnel Beach has even better snorkeling where we saw many turtles up close. - Na Pali coast is accessible on foot but you must reserve in advance at the state park. This is a spectacular park to walk. Earlier in the day is better. David W

  • May 24, 2024 Our family of ten thoroughly enjoyed waking up to the sound of the waves and the short walk down just a few steps to a wonderful log that sat at the top of the beach where the adults enjoyed fresh made coffee along with a beautiful sunrise each morning while the kids counted the crabs that scurried along the shoreline. It was all very magical. After coffee the kids were in the kitchen with Nana to make a breakfast feast which we enjoyed as a family at the spacious diningroom table before heading out on adventures or back to the beach for some much needed R&R. The beach chairs provided were very much appreciated as were the wakeboards which the kids enjoyed. The front yard provided another great place for the kids to find geckos, play catch or just hang around. We had big plans to go on lots of hikes but after settling into the beauty and solitude, it was hard to leave! if you stay, be sure to shower early on your last day so all towels can be washed, dried and folded😉 Lu L

  • Aug 03, 2023 We could not have enjoyed our stay more. The property is very uniquely situated, which leads to incredible views and sounds of the ocean throughout the house. The upstairs deck provides for an incredible star gazing deck at night, cocktail lounge at dinner, and coffee retreat at breakfast. The large hot tub on the lower deck was an added bonus. The house was very clean with an abundance of windows, comfortable beds, and amenities. The property management was very responsive and helpful at all times. The breeze from the ocean keeps the living and bedrooms cool. The proximity of Hanlei and Princeville make shopping for fresh fish and vegetables very easy. I would HIGHLY recommend this home. The wall to wall picture windows were sparkling clear and the sound of the ocean was all around you! It’s hard to express just how close you are to a beautiful beach and it’s very secluded feeling even though you are just off the main highway. We enjoyed incredible sunrises every morning and just a short walk down what feels like your private beach and you can see the sunset too! The house itself has everything you need, very accessible and you really feel at home here. We cherished every moment of our week there and can’t wait to get back there! Steven K

The remote location is not for everyone, but having checked out the area before, it was ideal for a long peaceful vacation family stay, with a gorgeous beachfront property and a wonderful beach home that provided most everything you could want! We had a toddler with us, so we cooked most of our meals in the lovely kitchen, with daily fun and playing on the mostly private beach and evening cocktails before our family meal. It was everything we hoped for and more! Just come prepared and stop at the Costco or other big stores in Lihue before you make the long drive to Haena/Hanalei, because Princeville will be your next best option. Food options are limited, but the beaches and views are unbelievable! Well worth the drive!!! We will be back! Minou C

  • Aug 04, 2022 IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS! Wow, this property is private, lovely and perfect. Lots of room for different groups to have their own space. You actually feel like you are on your own private island with the waves rolling in just outside your window - really ideal! The home is beautifully done, in good shape, clean and has everything you need. The house manager is excellent and wants to make your stay perfect! We had a fridge issue and she couldn't have taken it more seriously. Honestly she was awesome and the problem was handled immediately. Impressive. With a main master ocean suite on the first floor, there are 2 lovely ocean suites on the second floor as well (one with twins that can be pushed together). Then add to that, 2 lovely suites with their own entrances off the front deck and you can easily house 5 couples with plenty of area to retreat. While the 2 extra suites don't necessarily have waves crashing outside the window, they get a lovely ocean breeze. Long story short, everyone can have lovely accommodations! We had a private chef, Tony Braida, arranged by the management company and he was wonderful and accommodating to very specific and severe allergy issues. Not only was the food excellent, he was a kind, loving guy. The best! The house has great access to beaches, hikes and local restaurants. Distance to the airport and things like Costco are a bit unpredictable as there is only one main road but the privacy you gain by heading north is well worth what you give up to be in the heartbeat of the island. FYI, we didn't swim at the house due to a pretty rough ocean but with more protected beaches so close it was unnecessary. Big thumbs up on this one! . Nancy B

It is late in the season and the water was too rough for the kids to safely swim in there, but they loved playing in the sand and running from the waves. Short drive to hanalei town area, multiple beaches within short walking or driving distance. The house had all amenities you need for a beach house vacation, including beach chairs/umbrellas, boogie boards, and sand toys. Thank you Casey P

The beach was gorgeous, there was a monk seal hanging out every day that we loved walking to see. The water and current were too rough to swim in, but right down the road was Hanalei Beach and that was a dream! Would absolutely recommend staying here! Mandi G

We plan to stay here again. Being right on the ocean and listening to the waves every night was incredible. The location is conveniently close to Hanalei, but far enough away that you feel secluded. Would have been really nice to have more chairs on the porch facing ocean, so you could have morning coffee or evening cocktails. The porch off the kitchen only had a bench. House was well stocked with all the necessities needed including beach toys, chairs, body boards, snorkeling equipment which my kids and family loved. Jul 01, 2024 4 couples including parents with 3 adult children. - Each couple had their own bathroom and bedroom. Great privacy. - At the same time, the living room, dining room, and outdoor areas are spacious and excellent for congregations. - Well-appointed kitchen for grand meals. Grill is good but we ran out of propane which was a miss by the people who maintain it since there was no backup tank. ~ Surf at this house is strong and exciting. Further down the beach it’s less energetic and that’s where we did snorkeling - my son saw two Manta Rays right off the beach here. - The nearby Tunnel Beach has even better snorkeling where we saw many turtles up close. - Na Pali coast is accessible on foot but you must reserve in advance at the state park. This is a spectacular park to walk. Earlier in the day is better. David W

May 24, 2024 Our family of ten thoroughly enjoyed waking up to the sound of the waves and the short walk down just a few steps to a wonderful log that sat at the top of the beach where the adults enjoyed fresh made coffee along with a beautiful sunrise each morning while the kids counted the crabs that scurried along the shoreline. It was all very magical. After coffee the kids were in the kitchen with Nana to make a breakfast feast which we enjoyed as a family at the spacious diningroom table before heading out on adventures or back to the beach for some much needed R&R. The beach chairs provided were very much appreciated as were the wakeboards which the kids enjoyed. The front yard provided another great place for the kids to find geckos, play catch or just hang around. We had big plans to go on lots of hikes but after settling into the beauty and solitude, it was hard to leave! if you stay, be sure to shower early on your last day so all towels can be washed, dried and folded😉 Lu L

Aug 03, 2023 We could not have enjoyed our stay more. The property is very uniquely situated, which leads to incredible views and sounds of the ocean throughout the house. The upstairs deck provides for an incredible star gazing deck at night, cocktail lounge at dinner, and coffee retreat at breakfast. The large hot tub on the lower deck was an added bonus. The house was very clean with an abundance of windows, comfortable beds, and amenities. The property management was very responsive and helpful at all times. We had absolutely no issues and would recommend this house to anyone. Abraham S

The breeze from the ocean keeps the living and bedrooms cool. The proximity of Hanlei and Princeville make shopping for fresh fish and vegetables very easy. I would HIGHLY recommend this home. Apr 22, 2023 First impressions of this special place when you unlock the front door and walk straight into a picture straight out of heaven. The wall to wall picture windows were sparkling clear and the sound of the ocean was all around you! It’s hard to express just how close you are to a beautiful beach and it’s very secluded feeling even though you are just off the main highway. We enjoyed incredible sunrises every morning and just a short walk down what feels like your private beach and you can see the sunset too! The house itself has everything you need, very accessible and you really feel at home here. We cherished every moment of our week there and can’t wait to get back there! Steven K

Mar 15, 2023 My family and I were looking for a place to get away from everything, and Haena Beach House was perfect! The remote location is not for everyone, but having checked out the area before, it was ideal for a long peaceful vacation family stay, with a gorgeous beachfront property and a wonderful beach home that provided most everything you could want! We had a toddler with us, so we cooked most of our meals in the lovely kitchen, with daily fun and playing on the mostly private beach and evening cocktails before our family meal. It was everything we hoped for and more! Just come prepared and stop at the Costco or other big stores in Lihue before you make the long drive to Haena/Hanalei, because Princeville will be your next best option. Food options are limited, but the beaches and views are unbelievable! Well worth the drive!!! We will be back! Minou C

Aug 04, 2022 IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS! Wow, this property is private, lovely and perfect. Lots of room for different groups to have their own space. You actually feel like you are on your own private island with the waves rolling in just outside your window - really ideal! The home is beautifully done, in good shape, clean and has everything you need. The house manager is excellent and wants to make your stay perfect! We had a fridge issue and she couldn't have taken it more seriously. Honestly she was awesome and the problem was handled immediately. Impressive. With a main master ocean suite on the first floor, there are 2 lovely ocean suites on the second floor as well (one with twins that can be pushed together). Then add to that, 2 lovely suites with their own entrances off the front deck and you can easily house 5 couples with plenty of area to retreat. While the 2 extra suites don't necessarily have waves crashing outside the window, they get a lovely ocean breeze. Long story short, everyone can have lovely accommodations! We had a private chef, Tony Braida, arranged by the management company and he was wonderful and accommodating to very specific and severe allergy issues. Not only was the food excellent, he was a kind, loving guy. The best! The house has great access to beaches, hikes and local restaurants. Distance to the airport and things like Costco are a bit unpredictable as there is only one main road but the privacy you gain by heading north is well worth what you give up to be in the heartbeat of the island. FYI, we didn't swim at the house due to a pretty rough ocean but with more protected beaches so close it was unnecessary. Big thumbs up on this one! . Nancy B
