The property itself is gorgeous, with the view of the 2d hole of the Kona Country Club and the Pacific Ocean looking exactly like the photos at sunset! Every night had that special "wow, this is what Hawaii is all about". The furnishings, kitchen, layout etc were all great. What you won't be able to discern without reading all the details about the property is that there is no direct access to the oceanfront and that the shoreline is rocky with strong waves (much like the rest of the Big Island). Because we had not been to the Big Island, we had in mind a sandy beach just a 5-minute walk from the lanai pool/spa area. This is a FYI only -- not a criticism of Gather or the property.   • Dec 27, 2025 The house was amazing. The house was amazing. The ability to open the back way doors and walk out into the porch, overlooking the pool, golf course and ocean was just breathtaking. The kitchen was very well appointed and the pantry was stocked with more sharable basics than any other home I have stayed in before. It is not walkable to anything, but it's so perfect there were days we didn't need or want to leave. So happy we made this choice. It was worth the expense. Beth B

The sunsets were absolutely amazing and we had all of our meals outside. We are a family of 11 and were very comfortable here. The house had everything we needed and the hosts were very responsive. If I had a question or request I had a response within minutes. I would come back to this very spot. We were here an entire week and loved every minute and made many memories! Lisa L

  • Feb 22, 2025 Terrific to stay at! This was our first visit to the Big Island, and we truly enjoyed the house, location, and views. The house allowed us to host another couple for 4 nights with plenty of room and nice accommodations for all of us. We enjoy the private pool, hot tub every evening, while watching a fantastic sunset. The daily activity of the golfers on the 2nd hole of the Kona Country Club was a great way to enjoy your morning coffee, sitting on the patio while admiring the Pacific Ocean. The bedrooms are all nice, and there are plenty of other day beds for a large family. Lastly, it was terrific to stay at a place that had a well-equipped Kitchen, and a very nice grill for the evening we decided to cook and stay in. Teresa K

The 3 bathrooms are extremely convenient and the kitchen is easy to use. The outdoor living area makes a great extension to the home and we spent a ton of time outside.   • Nov 24, 2024 We had a very enjoyable stay here. The views were amazing and you could hear the ocean. The neighborhood was immaculate and very quiet. The gather group reached out to us prior to the trip to make excursion plans. We opted for the in home massage that was totally worth it ! We also saw the manta Rey excursion every night from our lanai. We ended up doing it and it was breathtaking! The home slept six adults comfortably. Three full baths was an added plus! We had to drive to town but it was a short distance. Grocery store just a five minute drive. Walkable to the harbor and outrigger resort. Sunsets at night from master balcony were fabulous! The kitchen was spacious and fun to cook in. Had everything we needed except spices for cooking but had all kinds of pots and pans to cook and bake. Plenty of glasses and dishes. Even a barbecue. We enjoyed our meals at the beautiful table on the lanai. Would definitely return Mike R

The kids especially loved the pool! The house is in a private residence area and about a 15 min drive from the main Kona happenings. Everything from the rooms to kitchen to outdoor spaces was beautiful, clean, roomy, and comfortable. Communication with the host company was super easy, and we were able to get a late checkout since we had an evening flight, which was nice. I would highly recommend this house! Elaine W

  • Nov 10, 2023 This place had an amazing view of ocean and sunset. The ocean is much closer than photos and we enjoy our coffee every morning by sitting on outside patio watching the ocean. Every room is so clean and spotless! I meant everything is so nice and clean. Our kids enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi after the swimming. The pool is perfect for kids to play and swim. Yes, it is not cheap to stay here but we would definitely like to come back again. Hana L

It's very clean, spacious and super comfortable for our family. The owner/host thought of everything needed for our stay. The kitchen was well-stocked with all the kitchen utensils that you could need. The bedrooms had very comfortable beds and extra sheets and blankets. They provided plenty of towels for us to use and also provided beach towels. There were also beach toys, boogie boards, beach chairs and umbrella. The pool was so fun for the kids! And, the lanai was perfect for watching the kids swim and waiting for the sunset. It was the perfect home for us while exploring the Big Island! And, the host was awesome! They were very responsive to any needs that we had. We had a small issue, but they responded in a very timely manner and were great to work with. Mahalo for sharing your home with us! Jeff M

  • Jan 22, 2023 We stayed 4 nights in January. Overall this was a 10/10 stay. The house itself is spacious and feels brand new. It was extremely well kept and clean. It seems the cleaning fee actually seems to be going to some purpose! All the appliances and bathrooms worked perfectly. There was central AC which was really luxurious. The house had enough space for 7 adults and 3 children in our group. It definitely felt like we were staying at a professional property as opposed to someone's residence. The pool and lanai are what put this house over the top. If you have kids, I cannot overstate the convenience of having your own pool. It provided endless enjoyment in between excursions on the island. The pool water itself was super clean and maintained. With a big group it was easier to cook a lot of meals than find space in restaurants, and the cooks in our group loved the high-end kitchen. I feel the price we paid was a good value for our large group, given the memories made here! Tim R

* 10-punch card: $120 (saves $30).
* Punch cards are valid for Open Play only (not reservations).
* Court Reservations: Tennis and pickleball reservations remain unchanged at $10 per person, per hour.
* Sign-In: For smoother check-ins, all guests will use a quick QR code sign-in.
* Members: simply enter your name.
* Non-members: name plus phone number (and email if requested).

The kitchen was very well appointed and the pantry was stocked with more sharable basics than any other home I have stayed in before. It is not walkable to anything, but it's so perfect there were days we didn't need or want to leave. So happy we made this choice. It was worth the expense. Beth B

Jul 07, 2025 Pictures for this home were amazing and I thought there was no way the home could actually be so beautiful , but it really was. The sunsets were absolutely amazing and we had all of our meals outside. We are a family of 11 and were very comfortable here. The house had everything we needed and the hosts were very responsive. If I had a question or request I had a response within minutes. I would come back to this very spot. We were here an entire week and loved every minute and made many memories! Lisa L

Feb 22, 2025 Terrific to stay at! This was our first visit to the Big Island, and we truly enjoyed the house, location, and views. The house allowed us to host another couple for 4 nights with plenty of room and nice accommodations for all of us. We enjoy the private pool, hot tub every evening, while watching a fantastic sunset. The daily activity of the golfers on the 2nd hole of the Kona Country Club was a great way to enjoy your morning coffee, sitting on the patio while admiring the Pacific Ocean. The bedrooms are all nice, and there are plenty of other day beds for a large family. Lastly, it was terrific to stay at a place that had a well-equipped Kitchen, and a very nice grill for the evening we decided to cook and stay in. Teresa K

The 3 bathrooms are extremely convenient and the kitchen is easy to use. The outdoor living area makes a great extension to the home and we spent a ton of time outside. Nov 24, 2024 We had a very enjoyable stay here. The views were amazing and you could hear the ocean. The neighborhood was immaculate and very quiet. The gather group reached out to us prior to the trip to make excursion plans. We opted for the in home massage that was totally worth it ! We also saw the manta Rey excursion every night from our lanai. We ended up doing it and it was breathtaking! The home slept six adults comfortably. Three full baths was an added plus! We had to drive to town but it was a short distance. Grocery store just a five minute drive. Walkable to the harbor and outrigger resort. Sunsets at night from master balcony were fabulous! The kitchen was spacious and fun to cook in. Had everything we needed except spices for cooking but had all kinds of pots and pans to cook and bake. Plenty of glasses and dishes. Even a barbecue. We enjoyed our meals at the beautiful table on the lanai. Would definitely return Mike R

Jul 21, 2024 Our family of 9 (6 adults, 3 kids, including a toddler) had an amazing stay at this house! We loved the view and watched the perfect sunset every day on the lanai. The kids especially loved the pool! The house is in a private residence area and about a 15 min drive from the main Kona happenings. Everything from the rooms to kitchen to outdoor spaces was beautiful, clean, roomy, and comfortable. Communication with the host company was super easy, and we were able to get a late checkout since we had an evening flight, which was nice. I would highly recommend this house! Elaine W

Nov 10, 2023 This place had an amazing view of ocean and sunset. The ocean is much closer than photos and we enjoy our coffee every morning by sitting on outside patio watching the ocean. Every room is so clean and spotless! I meant everything is so nice and clean. Our kids enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi after the swimming. The pool is perfect for kids to play and swim. Yes, it is not cheap to stay here but we would definitely like to come back again. Hana L

Jul 21, 2023 We had a wonderful stay at Big Island in this home! The home was perfect for our stay. Great location with great views of the ocean and majestic sunsets. This home is beautiful! It's very clean, spacious and super comfortable for our family. The owner/host thought of everything needed for our stay. The kitchen was well-stocked with all the kitchen utensils that you could need. The bedrooms had very comfortable beds and extra sheets and blankets. They provided plenty of towels for us to use and also provided beach towels. There were also beach toys, boogie boards, beach chairs and umbrella. The pool was so fun for the kids! And, the lanai was perfect for watching the kids swim and waiting for the sunset. It was the perfect home for us while exploring the Big Island! And, the host was awesome! They were very responsive to any needs that we had. We had a small issue, but they responded in a very timely manner and were great to work with. Mahalo for sharing your home with us! Jeff M

Jan 22, 2023 We stayed 4 nights in January. Overall this was a 10/10 stay. The house itself is spacious and feels brand new. It was extremely well kept and clean. It seems the cleaning fee actually seems to be going to some purpose! All the appliances and bathrooms worked perfectly. There was central AC which was really luxurious. The house had enough space for 7 adults and 3 children in our group. It definitely felt like we were staying at a professional property as opposed to someone's residence. The pool and lanai are what put this house over the top. If you have kids, I cannot overstate the convenience of having your own pool. It provided endless enjoyment in between excursions on the island. The pool water itself was super clean and maintained. With a big group it was easier to cook a lot of meals than find space in restaurants, and the cooks in our group loved the high-end kitchen. I feel the price we paid was a good value for our large group, given the memories made here! Tim R
