Nov 15, 2025 Great location Great location. Walk to the beach was 5-10 minutes and we were able to watch the sunrise every morning we were there! The cottage was super cute. Multiple places to eat and shop within a 10 minute drive. Only small things I would recommend is providing an iron. Granted we were at the beach most of the time but went out to eat for dinner and I didn’t have an iron for my cloths. Also most places I’ve stayed at provide a couple of trash bags. Both are minor things and overall we had a fantastic stay! crystal M

The location was perfect — just a short walk to the beach — and we really appreciated all the beach amenities provided, including chairs and towels. The nearby Pillbox hike was a huge bonus, offering amazing views that made our mornings unforgettable. The cottage felt private and peaceful, and we especially loved relaxing in the hammock. Stacy L

Oct 17, 2025 absolutely incredible The stay here was absolutely incredible! Great Airbnb, my husband and i went for our anniversary and the space was perfect for the two of us! Had a great pool and hammock in the yard which was fun! Short walk to the beach from the Airbnb and they had towels and chairs all ready for you to take down to the beach with you! Oct 03, 2025 perfect Our stay was perfect from start to end. The location gave us the living with local's vibe we so desperately wanted! Restaurants, stores and beautiful beaches all within a 5 minute drive. The home was safe, clean and breathtaking. Our young kids loved the pool and hunting for lizards and wildlife in the yard. Early morning coffee on the patio with nothing but birds and crickets. The home had everything we needed for our 5 day stay and we wouldn't have asked for a better host! Jan 21, 2025 this cottage is a dream of a destination in kailua! the garden, pool, outdoor deck, well-equipped kitchen, and beautiful interior spaces are just the start. access to the beaches at lanikai for amazing sunrises, lush landscaping, views to offshore islands, and long walks on a sandy beach is easy from the cottage. and a slightly longer walk gets you to kailua beach park's boardwalk and beach, and the hike at lanikai pillbox without driving or parking hassles. it's in a safe, private, and quiet neighborhood for residents, runners, bikers, and dog walkers. shops and restaurants are a short drive away, and a few are even walking distance. thank you for access to this special place! Dec 21, 2024 We felt so lucky to spend Christmas in this perfect little cottage. Lanikai is nearly impossible to get into on a short term basis, and this was a gem! The pool, while shaded, was perfect for the kids to play in; though it was not gated, so that is something to note with small children. The cottage itself is really well done. We stayed in 80 years before that have felt a bit rickety or poorly insulated and that was not the case here. It’s a very nice build with nice finishes, so it was easy to feel at home. Sha E

Dec 09, 2024 This space is really nice and you can’t beat the location. The kitchen doesn’t have a full sized fridge or stove so beware with grocery shopping and think of meals ahead of time. I traveled with my toddler and husband. I brought my own blackout curtain, it worked great on the front door. I slept in the living room (sofa bed) with my toddler. Overall the space worked great for us 3 but I think this space is perfect for a couple. Mary was very responsive and helpful. Delia G

Aug 14, 2024 We had a lovely stay. I highly recommend it. Its’ in a nice neighborhood, walkable beautiful beach, nice small pool in the yard. The sleeper sofa is super comfortable with a good mattress and nice sheets great when traveling with kids. Its’ a small space that has a nice design flow. Plenty bath and beach towels. Its’ very close to town and beach park. Its’ easy to go to Waikiki and or Haleiwa. Its’ steps away from a beautiful sunrise hike spot. Sunrise at the beach highly recommend steps away. May 01, 2024 This is our second stay at the cottage, but will not be our last. We love this place so much! If you’re looking for peacefulness and privacy and beauty, it’s like having a private resort to yourself. Pretty much every day we spent time in the pool and the hammock and the neighborhood beach. A great homebase to do many excursions around Oahu. I know the price point might seem to be high, but we have no problem because the property delivers exactly what you need. We couldn’t give you a higher recommendation. Roger R

Apr 20, 2024 Such a beautiful private spot. Close to Lanikai and perfect location for a quick drive to the grocery store or food spots. The pool was amazing, the home was small but the outdoor space made it feel so open and natural. I wish there was a King size bed, but mattress was super comfortable and the air conditioning circulated well in the cottage. Would definitely go back again. The contacts for the home were easy to reach, quick and friendly. I would say don’t try to wfh, the internet was super spotty but it made me stay away from my laptop and go outdoors more anyway! Mar 18, 2024 What a dream hale! I stayed here with my husband and two baby boys and it was perfection. The little private pool was awesome for my toddler as well as the pull out couch bed. Loved the private front yard tucked in the middle of beautiful trees. Lanikai beach is a nice walk away and Kailua town is a short drive away. We will definitely be staying there again! Paige A

Jan 22, 2024 We were so pleased to find a legal vacation rental in the beautiful neighbourhood of Lanikai. The property is in a wonderful location; a short walk from the incredibly gorgeous Lanikai beach (~8 min) and the Pillbox trailhead (~15 min). The property is lush, beautifully landscaped, and private. The interior of the cottage feels newly renovated and is well-designed with high-end finishes. The bed was very comfortable. The hosts kindly provided a pack-and-play with fitted sheets for our baby. They were also very responsive and flexible with a request to change to our reservation dates leading up to our stay. The pool and deck area were also beautiful. In an effort to provide a balanced review, I should mention that unfortunately, the mosquitoes made it difficult to enjoy the outdoor area (even with the use of mosquito coils). Dec 04, 2023 This is a very stylish and meticulously maintained guest house on a lovely and lush property. The pictures are true depictions. We initially wondered if it was too remote, but learned that driving 30-60 minutes would have been the norm on Oahu, regardless of where you might have elected to stay. The town of Kailua had nice small shops and restaurants, with gorgeous state beach park. And walking to and along Lanikai beach from the house a great bonus. Highly recommended for two people. We spent many hours looking for a short term rental in the Lanikai neighborhood. This unit was the most modern and updated while still embracing the aloha spirit. We would absolutely recommend this spectacular accomodation. It is truly a hidden little gem. We would definitely stay here again when returning to the Kailua-Lanikai area. The cottage was sparkling clean throughout, and we just loved the style & quality of everything. The towels were plush, air conditioner worked great, nice dishes & kitchenware, etc. The pool was such a treat to enjoy each day, and we loved taking the double kayak out to paddle around Lanikai, overall what an absolute treat. Sep 22, 2023 Amazing location in the upscale location of the Lanikai neighborhood where you can walk or bike to one of the best beaches in Hawaii. Lots of beach gear and amenities provided at this in-law rental; no one was staying at the main house so we had the entire property to ourselves. Beautiful outdoor shower and pool, and the rental has clearly been renovated very recently. The floors and finishes are pristine and the AC works great. At this price point you are paying for the location, but the rental was still high quality and private. It was a dream and we would definitely stay again. Rachel B

Jul 01, 2023 This place was a hidden gem in Lanikai. The beach was walkable in about 10 min and it was beautiful. We ended up renting bikes which was worth the trip into town which I recommend. There is a small market that takes about 45 min to walk too but it walk is beautiful and you don’t realize how long you’ve been walking. This was an amazing stay , will come back! Sara B

Jun 07, 2023 Cottage was small, but cozy. Beautiful landscape and private parking. Very peaceful and short walk to Lanikai Beach. Really meant for 2 adults, but doable with 2 kids because of the lack of hot water. Don’t keep the water running while applying soap and shampoo…keep the showers short. The mosquitos was relentless but manageable with repellent. The pool was really nice. A few things needed maintenance like the pockets door kept falling off the rails and the towels rack is about to fall. There was some miscommunication about the gate remote. Other than those minor quirks we enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back. Roger L

Jun 01, 2023 The landscaping was beautifully done. The cottage was small but cozy. My only cons were the mosquitoes, they were relentless both in AND outside, the patio was nice but couldn’t really enjoy it due to the mosquitoes. I understand it’s an air bnb and they don’t have to supply water, but it would have been nice to have a few bottles for guests at least until they can get to the store to get supplies. After a long day of travel, the last thing I felt like doing was looking for a store to get a drink of water. Also, I did inquire about an iron because my husband and I were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary and we had reservations for an upscale romantic dinner but was disappointed we couldn’t knock the wrinkles out of our clothing due to it being packed. I did reach out to the owner and we had a good laugh about who cares about ironing in Hawaii lol but it wouldn’t have hurt to have one on hand. It wasn’t a deal breaker though..all in all the place was lovely. Jan B

Apr 23, 2023 This cottage was everything we could’ve ever wanted and more. The location is perfect, right by the beach, pillbox hike, and all the good restaurants in Kailua. Everyone around is super friendly. Despite it being in a neighborhood, the garden surrounding the cottage made it feel very private. We used the umbrella, cooler, and beach chairs that were provided everyday. The AC worked great and the pool was perfect for just us on our honeymoon! Having the oven, stove, washer and dryer, and our own parking made this feel like another day at home. Everything was stress free and easy. The property itself was very nice and neat. The views from the property are breath-taking. I could not brag enough about this place. It truly made our honeymoon a fairytale. The hardest goodbye ever. Carter P

Apr 02, 2023 Our family loved this place so much, we returned in less than a years time. Not much has changed and we felt a sense of peace as soon as we arrived. My 5-year old daughter loves learning to swim in the small private pool. The beach is an easy walking distance for adults. It's a little bit of a struggle with a 3-yr old and 5-yr old to walk down to the sandy beach section so we did drop off and had my husband walk from the house to meet up with us. The garden and location of this unit in Lanikai make it unbeatable and our go-to vacation spot for Oahu! Makana N

Feb 27, 2023 We were very happy with our stay on this incredible property. First of all, it’s located in a beautiful neighborhood with beautiful foliage and landscaping not to mention glorious views of Twin Islands and the ocean from above. This property offers incredible privacy, like your own private resort. We took full advantage of the pool, hammock and lanai. Lots of birds singing and crickets at night. We enjoy being active and the neighborhood is very walk friendly and interesting. The beach in the neighborhood has the cleanest water I’ve seen on the island. We wanted to visit several beaches and after a while we realized we had one of the best 2 blocks away! Kailua offers many dining and shopping options. No need to travel anywhere outside the city unless you choose to. I’m not accustomed to spending this much on lodging but would not hesitate to do it again. Our most restful vacation ever. We can’t wait to return. Roger R

Jan 21, 2023 The guest house is wonderfully comfortable and well appointed; the plunge pool and grounds are amazing!! Only nit-picky critiques would be 1) the fridge is very small, it's a pull out drawer fridge, which is probably in the listing but we didn't realize it until after arriving. That's most likely on us, if you are expecting a mini fridge it's fine. 2) multiple people came unannounced onto the property during our stay, to retrieve cars, clean the pool and grounds and whatnot, which again was fine but unexpected. A heads up would have been nice. Truly paradise, a quick walk to multiple incredible beaches, easy drive to wonderful restaurants, feels upscale and secure. Luxury linens and magnificent landscaping help make the property feel so special! Highly recommend this beautiful romantic property. Andrew K

It was perfect to discover our cottage in Lanikai and the small pool was a bonus! The cottage was adorable, the area was quiet and it was a short walk to the beach.
