River is a short walk through an overgrown trail and is very peaceful. Location-wise, about 50 minutes to Mt Baker, 2 hours to Diablo Lake and the North Cascades and 2 hours outside of Seattle. Our family thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful setting and especially the beautiful trail to the river. We never got sick of seeing bald eagles each morning! It was amazing. The beds, rooms, bathrooms, kitchen etc were all extremely clean and comfortable and the fireplace and jacuzzi were a perfect way to relax.   • Aug 08, 2024 This home was thoughtfully decorated and appointed. We enjoyed plenty of space, seating, and supplies for 7 people during our three-night stay. There were a lot of "extras" in the area of kitchen supplies as well as items you might want for spending time at the river (cooler, folding chairs, travel mugs, etc.). The location was peaceful and an easy 30 minute drive to Bellingham. Mt. Baker access was a scenic one hour drive. I would recommend bringing a pair of slippers as there is a request that guests remove their shoes at the door. We loved our time here and would happily select this cabin again for a stay in this area. Megan B

The kitchen was fully stocked with everything necessary to cook including an awesome spice drawer. Had we known we would not have bought spices on our way in from Bellingham. We rented this space for a family wedding at Mount Baker for my son and it was spacious enough to host a cocktail hour for all family members after the wedding and photos and again the following night after the dinner at Refugio’s. Jessica was very responsive to our messages. We hope to be back soon and explore more of the Mt. Baker area. You provided a space to make memories for a special event for years to come. Hayley/Eric E

  • Jan 16, 2024 Family ski weekend Had a wonderful experience during the long weekend. Comfortably fit a toddler, parents, and two grandparents, with lots of room for more kids! Beautiful property with impeccable finishings. It's about an hour from the base of Mt Baker, and the hot tub was a lifesaver after a day on the slopes. No Ikea furniture in sight! There are modern touches everywhere, from transitionless showers to radiant heated floors, but with just the right amount of rustic old-timey feel. The property: The area is very quiet, with only one visible neighboring house. We went down to the river several times, which was a peaceful walk through the forest on a reasonably well-maintained trail. Overall, we were all extremely pleased with our stay and plan to return. Dec 24, 2023 Nicest I have stayed at Airbnb’s and other countries and several in the USA and this is by far the nicest, well equipped With upgraded amenities. I can recommend this cabin. If anyone is looking for a little getaway outside the city, we had Christmas there and it was a wonderful experience for our family. Dec 07, 2023 This cabin is absolutely gorgeous and the surrounding trees felt like being in the Hoh Rainforest. There’s a very walkable path to the river that was perfect for some nature bathing. The location is only 15 minutes from a grocery store and 30 mins from Bellingham, so it was really convenient to pick up any essentials we forgot. What an incredible place to disconnect and unwind for a weekend. Amy H

Nov 18, 2023 Nicest Airbnb This was far and away the nicest and most well-appointed Airbnb I have ever been to. The finishes and furnishings were extremely nice, and everything was high quality down to the soap! I've had some questionable experiences with Airbnb, but this has completely overwritten my prior experiences. The house: As I mentioned above, the fit and finish of this place is unmatched. No Ikea furniture in sight! There are modern touches everywhere, from transitionless showers to radiant heated floors, but with just the right amount of rustic old-timey feel. The layout of the cabin facilitates hanging out in groups, whether downstairs with a fire going, or upstairs with a good movie on. The property: The area is very quiet, with only one visible neighboring house. We went down to the river several times, which was a peaceful walk through the forest on a reasonably well-maintained trail. Overall, we were all extremely pleased with our stay and plan to return.
