Oct 19, 2023 Best Abnb I've stayed at so far. This house is beautiful architecturally. The property is so peaceful and serene. You can hear nature all night, which was so cool. I'd come back to Kona just to stay here. Melissa Wright

Sep 21, 2023 My wife and I decided to book a long weekend away to visit the big island. We found this charming listing and felt it was perfect for a quiet, private retreat. The space is beautiful and extremely private. You have a view of the ocean from about 1500ft on the hillside. The sunsets are breathtaking and unobstructed. The layout of this home focuses on maximizing the view of the ocean. All spaces have views and the lanai expands across the entire back area. The main living space is separate from each bedroom allowing for privacy as needed. The home it self is oriented for completed privacy. You don’t look into anyone else’s space either. This is a perfect space for a family gathering or quiet retreat on the big island. Our hosts were proactive and communicative and made this stay problem free. Jun 21, 2023 All three generations of our family enjoyed a relaxing stay at Hale Joli. The landscaping was beautiful and the ocean view from the lanai stunning. The living room and kitchen were spacious, clean and well equipped. Primary bedroom was large and included a desk for working, but the other 2 bedrooms were smallish which was not a problem for us as we only used them for sleeping. All had multiple fans to keep guests cool at night. We found the traditional Hawaiian home stye which included overhead fans for cooling, visits from geckos, and listening to birds and frogs to be a nice change of pace. Beach towels, chairs, umbrellas and some sand toys were available for our use. Kathryn Cooper

May 17, 2023 This property was amazing! Understated elegance is how I would describe this property. We felt transported to a different place…and it was magical! Bedroom doors are accessed from the outdoors, which may be an issue for younger visitors, but was fine for our family! Close to town, yet feels remote and perfect. We will be back! Dillon Lambert

Enter Hale Joli via the long private driveway and the inviting front entrance into the great room, an open-concept common area that comprises the living, dining and kitchen areas in a spacious A-frame design, equipped with high ceilings, several ceiling fans and with full-walled sliding door access to both the front and back patios to let in ample natural light as well as the refreshing trade winds. Relax in the living area on the couch or armchairs and enjoy the large flatscreen television for a night of entertainment, or revel in the grandeur of the stellar seaside views beyond.
Enjoy cooking up delicious Hawaiian meals in the grand kitchen, equipped with all stainless steel appliances, including a wine fridge, and a dining table that seats up to 8 guests. Or take your meals out to the picturesque covered lanai (patio) and be seated at the outdoor table that accommodates 6. Grill up a feast on the outdoor barbecue grill station and countertop, and spend your afternoons playing games or chilling out in the large grass field overlooking the ocean, and stroll down in the evening to the festive fire pit to witness the breathtaking colors of the Hawaiin sunset, and lounge in its adirondack recliners until the stars come out to light up the night sky.
All bedrooms, featuring only exterior access via a covered pathway via sliding glass doors, are equipped with ceiling fans and high-vaulted ceilings for fresh airflow, as well as incredible ocean views and access to the back lanai. The spacious primary bedroom comes with a comfortable king bed and a private ensuite with a large vanity and a shower/tub combo. Guest bedroom 2 has a king bed and access to the shared guest bathroom with a shower/tub combo. Guest bedroom 3 is outfitted with 2 queen beds and shares access to the guest bathroom. There is an additional half-bath for guest use, as well a laundry room with an in-unit washer and dryer.
