  • Feb 13, 2025 Lovely home, exceptional location We really enjoyed our time in this spacious home. It was easy to find spaces to be together or have a little quiet. The game room was a big hit. (It's literally big, the size of the three-car garage under it.) The kitchen was well equipped and easy for two cooks to navigate together. The primary suites were quite large; one has a closet bigger than my first apartment. Some of the other rooms were smaller. The one with the bunk beds was quite small for two young adults and did not have air conditioning or a ceiling fan. The location, right across the street from Lyman's Bay, allowed us to watch the surfers and the sunsets every day. If we wanted a view completely unobscured by trees, we ran across to the sea wall, but the view from the lanai off the kitchen and living room was lovely. The yoga room had an exceptional view, but it was quite warm if the air conditioner wasn't running. Polly
  • Nov 25, 2024 We enjoyed our stay at the Lyman’s Bay - the house is large and sleeps ten. Plenty of room for eating inside and out on the deck. Beautiful views of the ocean and sunsets right across the street. Magic Sands beach one half mile away - easily walkable. Plenty of parking space. Large kitchen. Spotless clean. Air conditioners throughout when needed, but just open up the plentiful doors and windows and enjoy the breeze! All arrangements and communications were professional with easy check in and out with Electronic door lock. There is some street noise, but that is almost drowned out by the crashing waves against the lava rocks, and the views, especially at sunset, are sensational. Let’s face it, in Hawaii you don’t spend a lot of time indoors, except to sleep and eat occasionally, but if you need a large space, this is it! Brent John

  • Mar 01, 2024 This lovely home provided a great homebase for our trip to the Big Island. Our group ages 21 - 56 enjoyed all the amenitites at Lyman's bay including comfortable beds, a well equipped kitchen, pool, ping pong, hottub, and a wonderful lenai to watch the sunset. There was plenty of room to spread out, ample space for us to eat together. The house is located betwen downtown Kona and Keahou shopping center making shopping and dining convenient as well. The photos in th posting were an accurate representation of the home, the property management company had prompt and regular communications on the details of the property.   • Aug 20, 2023 This Air B and B was fantastic. We had so much fun ( party of 7) but it could easily accommodate 12. The location was the best. Everything is exactly as pictured in the listing. Except the furniture was surprisingly comfortable. I didn’t expect it to be based on the photos. There’s a small beach area directly across the street ( must wear water shoes) and white sands beach a mile or so down the road with lifeguard bathrooms and restaurant. The view from the balcony is breathtaking. Everything worked in the house and was super clean. We had one hiccup - the host promised a pack and play there for our baby and there wasn’t one.   • Jun 22, 2023 Very large home that was perfect for our family of nine. Perfect location, beautiful view. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out. Only warning is if your going during the hot season there are only a few small window unit AC units that really struggle to cool off the house. Mornings and nights weren't to bad but during the day it was almost uncomfortable. The game room was nice but during the day and evening it was so hot you couldn't use them. Also may want to request that the AC's are turned on before you get there. When we got there all the AC's and fans were off making it miserably hot for several hours until the HVAC could catch up. Lyman’s Bay Hale by Gather, tucked into an area of thick, green foliage right off Ali’i Drive, is a large three-story home with 5 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms in beautiful Kailua-Kona. Just a stone’s throw away from Lyman’s Bay, which is located just across the street, you can hear the waves crashing against the rocky shoreline and gaze out at the serene bay from multiple rooms throughout this home. With lots of space, air conditioning in every room, and a rarely-seen layout that you’ll love, this residence offers all you’ll need to feel right at home.

Make your way past the 3-car garage and carefully manicured lawn to enter the ground floor of the property into the bright foyer, adorned with ocean-themed artwork. The first-floor primary suite has a King-size bed and large windows, providing a view of the lush greenery that surrounds the home and a spacious bathroom with an enormous walk-in shower and a unique vanity with beautiful custom cabinets and granite countertops. The other 3 bedrooms located on this floor share the sizable guest bathroom, with an almost identical vanity and a shower/tub combo. The first guest bedroom contains a plush King-size bed, while the second has a Queen- size bed, as well as access to the lanai. The last ground-floor bedroom features Twin-size bunk beds perfect for children. A full-size laundry room rounds out the lower level of this home.

Climb the wide wooden staircase to the second floor, which takes you directly into the large open-concept living space, with vaulted ceilings and sightlines to the ocean. The tropical rattan furniture in the living room is mirrored in the dining room’s glass table set for six. Pass through the large sliding glass door onto the lanai where you can BBQ and dine while enjoying the charming ocean view before you. Conveniently, the lanai also connects to the stunning kitchen, with its one-of-a-kind contrasting wood cabinets, stainless steel appliances, and a wet bar for mixing cocktails. There is a charming half bath near the great room as you make your way to the expansive game room. This fun space boasts both a pool and ping pong table, so you can challenge your friends and family to a friendly game, or simply sprawl out on the couch with some popcorn for a movie night. The only bedroom on this floor, the second primary suite, impresses with its King-size bed, luxurious ensuite with a walk-in shower, and a decadent walk-in closet. The airy third floor of the home has the option of being used as an early morning yoga retreat or as an office, where you can catch glimpses of the water beyond the windows as you work.

Jun 22, 2023 Very large home that was perfect for our family of nine. Perfect location, beautiful view. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out. Only warning is if your going during the hot season there are only a few small window unit AC units that really struggle to cool off the house. Mornings and nights weren't to bad but during the day it was almost uncomfortable. The game room was nice but during the day and evening it was so hot you couldn't use them. Also may want to request that the AC's are turned on before you get there. When we got there all the AC's and fans were off making it miserably hot for several hours until the HVAC could catch up. Jan 03, 2023 Very nice property. A lot of traffic if you had small children, but we were 5 adults so all good. Lots of stairs if your older, but house is great, very comfortable and gorgeous view. Kirstine O'Kelley
