  • May 15, 2025 Amazing location! I've rented a few places in the past, and I've never had an opportunity to rent a location this amazing. This rental is a 20 out of 10. Sleep capacity was amazing, kitchen size and lounging areas allowed my party the space to enjoy each other while giving others the chance to enjoy personal time. The pool and outdoor area allow you to enjoy the coastline's amazing sunsets. This location will not disappoint. My party of 16 was able to walk away satisfied. The ability to text the owner/manager was met with fast responses. I didn't read any of the reviews prior to our stay, but I can say that whatever issues that were problems before have been resolved. All major appliances worked flawlessly. Given the opportunity to return to Kona (Big Island), I will seek to schedule my travels around this property's availability. Terrance B

Close to Shopping, groceries or sight seeing, yet far enough to feel like you and your family are in their own little world. There was 10 adults and 3 toddlers in my family, and we had more than enough sleeping space. The view from the pool deck is priceless. Thanks for having us. Edward Perez
  • Dec 27, 2024 We were a family group of 12, and our ages ranged from two to 72. Honu Hale was a perfect fit for our active family. The Big Cousins (ages four to 12) loved the bunk room and played many games of hide and seek throughout the house. All five of the cousins, as well as we adults, enjoyed the pool and the hot tub and eating our meals outside. We grown ups also thoroughly enjoyed each spectacular sunset and the beautiful night sky that followed. Many wonderful family memories were created during our stay, and we all fell in love with Kona. Here are the activities we enjoyed when you could pry us away from Honu Hale: —Swimming with manta rays —Parasailing —Snorkeling at two different beaches —Visiting a coffee farm and its lava tubes —Picnicking at Kilauea while watching the volcano erupt —Creating family memories for all 12 of us Paula Boyce

  • Nov 05, 2024 Honu Hale I am a Big Island native. We live on the mainland now and came home for a family visit. I cannot, as a local, say enough good things about this place. The home itself is larger than the pictures show, huge pool, incredible views and well stocked with everything you need. The hosts were so accommodating and kind-unlike some of the other rental hosts that we reached out to-and it was that that made us choose this home to begin with. But we were not expecting everything to be as lovely as it was. Anyways, 5 stars and we hope to come back sometime! Nicole B.

We all felt super comfortable and this lovely place made a forever memory for each of us with plenty of room. The pool and chess set were extra special. The driveway is challenging but doable. Just a heads up for everyone traveling that the parking into the home is a steep 45 degree climb so some of us parked our cars on the road below. This estate has high ceilings, with beautifully erected open beams and sight lines throughout. Grab all of your guests and melt into the plush sofas for multiple movie nights, where everyone can have a seat in front of the sleek, mounted TV.

Honu Hale has a fully equipped kitchen to prepare your favorite meals and a poolside BBQ perfect for Hawaiian-inspired cuisine. The primary bedroom offers a California King-sized bed, lanai access, and an upgraded bathroom with dual vanities. Furnished with designer decor, an oversized jetted soaking tub, and a private seating area, this space is perfect for easing into your day with a cup of Kona coffee and your latest read or ending it with a relaxing bath. The other 4 guest bedrooms feature a variety of sleeping options from King beds, Twin beds, a Queen bed, and 2 Queen sleeper sofas. If you have little ones traveling, you don’t need to worry about their sleeping arrangements either. There’s a baby crib and 2 packs and plays available for you to use if you wish.

Sep 06, 2023 This was a special vacation, 3 generations finally sharing good times together. We all felt super comfortable and this lovely place made a forever memory for each of us with plenty of room. The pool and chess set were extra special. The driveway is challenging but doable. We were a bit confused with several sets of departure instructions that conflicted a bit but overall we had an incredible holiday. Jen Forcier

Jun 02, 2023 We had a great time as a large friends group of 15 people with everyone loving the place. Just a heads up for everyone traveling that the parking into the home is a steep 45 degree climb so some of us parked our cars on the road below. This is definitely not an issue but just something to be aware of. Great property, great views and responsive host Vikram Ahuja
