  • Feb 17, 2026 Casa de Emdeko is a lovely place to stay. The lanai for this unit overlooks a beautifully landscaped courtyard with a fountain, and it provides a glimpse of the ocean through the palms. There is a small "beach" on the ocean end of the complex with lounge chairs but no umbrellas. The cabana structure and the lobby area offer seating with shade and ocean breezes. We particularly liked to spend time in the saltwater pool after a day of exploring. The condo was comfortable and relatively soundproof. The kitchen met our needs for breakfast and lunch prep. Having a washer and dryer in the unit was a big plus. Finding a parking spot within the gated area was a challenge in the evening, so we ended up parking outside the gate in the lot for the adjacent commercial building much of the time (which is allowed). If you are staying more than a few days, be aware that you will only receive a "starter kit" of basics such as dishwasher tabs, laundry detergent, and toilet paper, so you may need to buy more. Also, you will need a Spectrum account if you want to stream any programs. All in all, a great place to stay. Wendy R

Casa De Emdeko has a manmade beach next to the ocean and has beautiful landscaping which can be enjoyed from a private lanai. Having breakfast on the lanai as the sun comes up and listening to the chirping birds was such a joy! The condo was surprisingly very quiet during the day and night. The long-term residents have a lovely sunset ritual they perform nightly saying goodnight to the sun as it sets by blowing their conch shells. Be sure to take this in! Beautiful!   • Jan 06, 2025 A fabulous place to enjoy the ocean & sun! The relaxed and quiet vibe of the complex & community, including a few resident owners, was incredible. Each spectacular sunset was accompanied with the local tradition of shell-blowing & torch lighting. The welcome basket and other provided supplies meant less shopping and more beach time. Yay!! Although <2 mile walk or drive to downtown, the free Hele-On Bus shuttle stops right in front of the deli store. Ali’i Gardens Marketplace across & down the street is even closer. It’s an ideal location to hang out all day or as a base camp to travel around the island. Charmaine A

Parking inside gated area was frequently full, but no problem parking just outside. Small convenience store just steps away. Made it easy for last minute items. It was a half an hour walk or five minute drive to downtown Kailua Kona. A great location for beaches and hikes on the west side of the big island Jim P

The kitchen had BBQ utensils and the pans were all newer nonstick. We made eggs, mashed potatoes and corn on the Cobb! Coffee maker with a grinder was a nice touch. This place had a resort touch to it without the resort prices. It was intimate and comfortable. Bonus- it had its own sandy beach and palm trees! It was super easy to get to from the airport and the directions provided were perfectly easy to follow. The unit was super comfortable, very very clean, and it had everything I could possibly ask for. The kitchen is roomy and very well equipped. The bathroom has double sinks, and is very spacious. The location is away from the hustle and bustle, but still within a short drive to everything. The only complaint was that it was very cold in the apartment due to the air conditioning. A sign on the system prohibited turning it off. Despite regulations, it was too cold. Johann B

Die Lage ist abseits des Trubels, aber dennoch alles in kurzer Fahrt zu erreichen. Das einzige was zu bemängeln war, ist dass es durch die Klimaanlage sehr kalt in der Wohnung war. Ein Schild an der Anlage hat verboten, diese auszuschalten. Trotz Regulierung war es zu kalt. Johann B

A little bit older, but has everything you will need. A/C, washer and dryer are a big plus. Nice balcony facing decorative waterfall and a fountain is perfect for morning cup of coffee in peace. Pool area has propane grills. The property is located right on the water. You can’t swim there, but there is an artificial sand beach, where you enjoy yourself on the beach chair under the palm tree to the view of a beautiful ocean. The sunset is unbelievable. It’s a gated community with parking spaces, but if you get back later at night, chances are, all of them will be taken. However, there is plenty of parking right outside of the fence. Easy communication with the management team. Someone will reply to your message even on the weekend. Late checkout was available for what we thought was a very reasonable fee.   • May 12, 2023 The property was exactly as advertised. There was a minor cleaning issue when we arrived but the management company promptly made it right. They went above and beyond and even helped us figure out why the internet wasn’t working for a few hours (internet company outage). Such a relaxing property with a beautiful property beach and pools. Everything was clean and the complex is quiet. Every evening residents gather at the shore to watch the sunset and blow through conch shells. You will not be disappointed. Kim G

Jan 25, 2024 This property is absolutely beautiful! It is in a great location, not far from downtown Kailua Kona. It was super easy to get to from the airport and the directions provided were perfectly easy to follow. The unit was super comfortable, very very clean, and it had everything I could possibly ask for. The kitchen is roomy and very well equipped. The bathroom has double sinks, and is very spacious. Honestly, this place was pretty amazing. I would definitely return! Teresa A

Nov 19, 2023 Equipped with Everything The apartment was very nice and equipped with everything you need. We especially thought the beach equipment (parasol, chairs, etc.) was great. The location is away from the hustle and bustle, but still within a short drive to everything. The only complaint was that it was very cold in the apartment due to the air conditioning. A sign on the system prohibited turning it off. Despite regulations, it was too cold. Johann B
Nov 19, 2023 Das Apartment war sehr schön und mit allem ausgestattet, was man benötigt. Vor allem die Strandausrüstung (Sonnenschirm, Stühle etc) fanden wir super. Die Lage ist abseits des Trubels, aber dennoch alles in kurzer Fahrt zu erreichen. Das einzige was zu bemängeln war, ist dass es durch die Klimaanlage sehr kalt in der Wohnung war. Ein Schild an der Anlage hat verboten, diese auszuschalten. Trotz Regulierung war es zu kalt. Johann B

Jul 17, 2023 Great place 5 minutes drive from town center with shopping, restaurants and nightlife one way, and 5 minutes drive to a beautiful Magic Sands Beach the other way. A little bit older, but has everything you will need. A/C, washer and dryer are a big plus. Nice balcony facing decorative waterfall and a fountain is perfect for morning cup of coffee in peace. Pool area has propane grills. The property is located right on the water. You can’t swim there, but there is an artificial sand beach, where you enjoy yourself on the beach chair under the palm tree to the view of a beautiful ocean. The sunset is unbelievable. It’s a gated community with parking spaces, but if you get back later at night, chances are, all of them will be taken. However, there is plenty of parking right outside of the fence. Easy communication with the management team. Someone will reply to your message even on the weekend. Late checkout was available for what we thought was a very reasonable fee. May 12, 2023 The property was exactly as advertised. There was a minor cleaning issue when we arrived but the management company promptly made it right. They went above and beyond and even helped us figure out why the internet wasn’t working for a few hours (internet company outage). Such a relaxing property with a beautiful property beach and pools. Everything was clean and the complex is quiet. Every evening residents gather at the shore to watch the sunset and blow through conch shells. You will not be disappointed. Kim G

Aug 14, 2022 Great property and good location Great property and good location. The trolley stop is right out front. If you want to ride it to shop or eat. The salt water pool on the beach is perfect for relaxing and great at sunset. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Jahna W
